Alpharetta area dentist describes dental implants Benifit over dental bridges

Alpharetta area dentist describes dental implants Benifit

Patients in the Alpharetta area who are faced with tooth loss are often overwhelmed when it comes to the prospect of replacing their teeth with short or long-term restorations. They may be unsure as to how they want to correct their smile, and worried they may be making the wrong decision. When patients are interested in long-term restorations, they are often told by Dr. Bradley R. Hepler that their two primary choices are dental implants and dental bridges. Many patients want to know more about dental implants vs. dental bridges before making a final decision.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium posts that are placed into the bone of the jaw during oral surgery. They can last a lifetime with proper care. They are restored over the top with an abutment and a dental crown to function and look natural.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges can be used to replace one or more teeth. They do not require oral surgery, but patients should take note that in order to place one of these restorations, the adjacent teeth must be reduced and shaped. Once the enamel is removed, impressions are made and used by a dental laboratory to fabricate the porcelain restoration, which is bonded in place by our dental professionals.

Patients who are unsure of which restoration to choose for their smiles are welcome to make an appointment at the Atlanta Center for Dental Health with Dr. Bradley R. Hepler to discuss the possibilities and determine which option may be best. Not every patient’s situation is the same, so it is important for our team to develop a personalized treatment plan for each individual who is faced with tooth loss and restoration.

If you live in the community of Alpharetta and want to speak with a dental professional who provides several options for tooth replacement, contact Dr. Bradley R. Hepler of the Atlanta Center for Dental Health today to book a consultation appointment and initial evaluation.
